Dr. Ray A. Owens is married to Dr. Dion Owens.  First Lady Owens is a psychiatrist certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. Dion earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Princeton University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers Medical School.  Dion taught fourth grade for three years and preschool for two years before earning her medical degree.  Currently, she works as a physician who specializes in behavioral health.  

Dion serves as the Met’s Director of Special Projects and on the Worship Planning Team. She leads great initiatives such as the Met Annual Backpack Giveaway and Trunk or Treat.  She advises ministry leaders and assesses church programs in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of Met ministries.  She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., The Links, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.  Dion has a passion for working with people–she loves seeing them develop and achieve their personal best in Christ.

Metropolitan Baptist Church believes fruitful giving creates a solid financial foundation. When we give, we simply offer God a very small portion of all the abundance He has given us. No amount is too small when giving with a purpose and from the heart.
