FOOD SERVICE MINISTRY
Operates the church kitchen and provides quality food service for designated events such as WOW bible study, annual days, meetings, receptions, and funerals as requested.
Ensures the warm welcoming of all members, guests, and first-time visitors at Church services and other designated events. The Greeters also act as hostesses for various events throughout the year.
One of the first welcomes our visitors and members receive is in the parking lot! Our parking lot ministry provides orderly management of parking areas including directing traffic in a safe and efficient manner and watching for the safety of parking lot guests, offering golf cart rides for special events, and an umbrella for those rainy days.
Oversight of church attendee, property safety, and security matters including monitoring worship services, meetings, events, parking lot, and emergency plans.
Responsible for the seating, comfort, and direction of the congregation as well as distribution of programs and church bulletins at Church services and other designated events.
New Member Care Ministry
Making the decision for salvation, baptism, rededication, or membership is one that can make worshippers a little nervous. Our New Member Care Ministry is always standing and ready to receive new members and make the process flow easily. They help with gathering new member information and pictures, orientation classes, follow up, and the formal recognition process.
Activities for seniors focused on fellowship, volunteerism, and outreach involvement.
Sunday School Ministry
Sunday School is educational ministry that is based on sound biblical principles with classes that are evangelistically driven. Sunday School is helpful to producing stronger and more useful followers of Christ. If you have a strong desire to teach bible-based principles, this is where you SERVE.
Vacation Bible School
Week long biblical education session to create/foster a greater connection with God while providing an outreach opportunity for children. Teachers and volunteers needed also!
We call our AV team the “Eyes and Ears” of the Met Church service. From sound boards and cameras, to Easyworship and lighting, we would love to train you to work with our AV team! We offer live-streaming every Sunday and you can help us to bring God into the nursing homes and houses of those who can’t make it to the physical building. We would love to have you help us to make the service more efficient through using your gifts.
Produces media to reach the congregation and our community to inspire, inform, and invite participation in the life, mission, and purposes of the Church.
Provides duplication, sales, and distribution of quality media products from worship services and other ministry events.

Performing Arts Ministry
The Performing Arts ministry brings the word through dramatic presentation. Calling all actors, praise dancers, mimes, and others engaged in drama and fine arts! This ministry is responsible for creating and directing productions, presentations, and activities related to worship, Black History Month, Easter, and Christmas.
Baby Dedication Ministry
Prepares for service moments where babies 12 months or younger are dedicated to the Lord and presented to the church for watch care. Parents or grandparents who are members may request this ministry.
Assists family representative concerning funeral or memorial services of members to assure that all service and church ministry visitation details are coordinated to aid the bereaved family in their time of need.
Our Deacons aid in serving the Pastor to advance the general interests and spiritual oversight of the church. They are continually watchful and helpful in any way necessary to free the Pastor for his God-given duties. Baptism assistance, Lord’s Supper serving, sick and shut-in visitation, and benevolence administration are major focuses of this ministry.
Activities related to serving the Pastor and church in visiting and care of the sick and distressed members of the Church while aiding in the ordinances of the church with Baptism candidate and Lord’s Supper preparation and serving assistance.
Doctors and Nurses Guild
Supports and assists the congregation through the gift of help and ministering to those in need with a goal to promote health and well-being through education and information for the Church and community. Responsible for the bi-annual health fair.
Coordinates outreach programs such as feeding the homeless, drives for clothing, food, and other needs. Also represents Metropolitan in First United Baptist District Association Mission activities.
Coordination and operation of the Church Nursery that provides quality and loving child care services to infants and toddlers for designated events at the Church.
Responsible for the comprehensive prayer ministry of the church including intercession and individual prayer requests.
Activities related to ministering to prisoners and their families through Bible study programs in prisons and juvenile detention centers as well as mentoring programs for the children of prisoners. Correspondence and card ministry is also part of this ministry.
Administers scholarship program that supports and encourages members and others as approved who are attempting to further their education post high school to reach their academic and spiritual goals.
Provides transportation to those in need to designated worship services and activities of the church.
Assists couples in the planning of their special day to enter into holy matrimony to assure that all church facility details are coordinated to aid the couple in a happy and memorable ceremonial start to their new lives together.
